Privacy Policy

SparkVault Downloads Manager is built with privacy-first principles. It lets you search, view, and manage your downloads entirely within your browser, without sending any information to external servers. All operations, including file indexing, metadata display, and status updates, occur locally on your device.

What data we do not collect

• We do not collect personally identifiable information (PII) such as names, emails, or phone numbers.
• We do not record your browsing history, download content, or system files.
• We do not transmit download logs, URLs, or metadata to any remote server.
• We do not track user behavior or share data with third parties.

Local-only operation

All download management, sorting, filtering, and theme preferences are stored locally using Chrome's storage APIs. No data leaves your system unless you explicitly choose to export downloads or metadata.

Permissions

SparkVault Downloads Manager requires minimal permissions:

• downloads — to read download metadata and manage files locally.
• storage — to save user settings, theme preferences, and filters.
• <all_urls> — to track URLs of downloaded files across all websites.

These permissions are used solely to provide the extension’s functionality and never for data collection.

Data visibility and control

You have full control over your download data. Files and metadata can be cleared at any time. Exporting information (JSON/CSV) is optional and remains entirely under your control. Uninstalling the extension removes all local data.

Third-party services

SparkVault Downloads Manager does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking services. If optional cloud sync or backup features are introduced in the future, they will be fully documented and require explicit user consent before activation.

Future cloud features

Any future multi-device sync or cloud backup will require account creation and explicit agreement to terms. Only data necessary for synchronization will be transmitted securely using encrypted HTTPS/TLS connections.

Security

All processing occurs inside Chrome's secure extension environment. Cloud-based features, if added, will use encryption and authentication to maintain confidentiality and integrity of your data.

Children’s privacy

SparkVault Downloads Manager is not intended for children under 13 years old. No information is knowingly collected from children, and any accidental data will be deleted immediately upon discovery.

Policy changes

This policy may be updated as new features are added. Updates will appear on this page with a “Last updated” date. Major changes will also be communicated within the extension.
