SparkVault Webpage Text Editor Privacy Policy
Last updated: Nov 13, 2025 • Extension: SparkVault Suite
Privacy Policy
SparkVault Webpage Text Editor is designed with a privacy-first approach. It allows you to edit, save, and personalize text on any website locally — without transmitting your edits or browsing data to external servers. All changes and settings are stored securely in your browser.
What data we do not collect
- We do not collect personally identifiable information (PII) such as names, emails, or phone numbers.
- We do not collect your browsing history, webpage content, or credentials.
- We do not transmit saved edits, notes, or preferences to any server by default.
- We do not track your usage behavior or share data with third parties.
Local-only operation
All editing, auto-saving, theme settings, and per-site preferences happen locally in your browser. Your edits, themes, and configuration remain on your device. You control all data retention, and nothing leaves your system unless you explicitly export it.
Permissions
SparkVault Webpage Text Editor requires the following permissions to function effectively:
- activeTab — to allow editing text on the current active webpage you are viewing.
- storage — to save your local edits, theme preferences, per-site settings, and undo/redo history.
- tabs — to identify and manage edits across multiple browser tabs efficiently.
- unlimitedStorage — to store large amounts of edits, themes, and site-specific configurations locally without running into browser storage limits.
These permissions are strictly used for the extension’s functionality and never for collecting personal information or tracking browsing activity.
Data visibility and control
You have full control over your edits, saved preferences, and themes. You can undo, redo, or delete edits anytime. Exporting edits to JSON or CSV is optional and remains entirely under your control. Removing the extension clears all locally stored data automatically.
Optional future cloud features
Future versions may introduce optional cloud backup or sync features to support multi-device use. Any such feature will require explicit user consent, account creation, and secure encrypted transfers via HTTPS/TLS. Only the necessary data for synchronization will be stored.
Security
All data processing occurs within your browser’s secure environment. Any cloud-based features will use encrypted connections and authentication to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of your data.
Children’s privacy
SparkVault Webpage Text Editor is not designed for children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. Any such data discovered will be deleted immediately.
Policy changes
This policy may be updated as new features are added. All updates will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Major changes will be communicated within the extension interface.
