SparkVault Permissions Inspector Privacy Policy
Last updated: Nov 13, 2025 • Extension: SparkVault Suite
Privacy Policy
SparkVault Permissions Inspector is designed with a privacy-first approach. It monitors, visualizes, and manages site permissions entirely on your device—without transmitting, collecting, or storing any personal information externally. All permission inspection, tracking, and reporting take place locally within your browser.
What data we do not collect
- We do not collect or store personally identifiable information (PII) such as names, emails, or passwords.
- We do not access or store your browsing history, page content, or user credentials.
- We do not transmit site permissions data to any external server.
- We do not use analytics, cookies, or tracking technologies to monitor user behavior.
Local-only operation
All permission scanning and processing is performed locally in your browser. Permissions data—including Camera, Microphone, Geolocation, Notifications, Clipboard Access, Persistent Storage, MIDI, Motion Sensors, and other supported features—is inspected and displayed in real time and remains on your device. Exporting permissions data is entirely optional and occurs only when you choose to download it as a JSON file.
Permissions
SparkVault Permissions Inspector requires minimal permissions to function:
- tabs — to read open tabs’ URLs, titles, and metadata for site permission inspection.
- scripting — to inspect permissions for each tab accurately and update the dashboard dynamically.
- storage — to save your preferences, theme, and permission history locally for persistence across sessions.
- <all_urls> — to allow tracking permissions on all websites you visit. Data is never transmitted outside your browser.
These permissions are used solely to provide full functionality and never to collect or share user data.
Data visibility and control
You retain full control over your data. Permissions tracked by the extension can be cleared manually from the popup dashboard, and uninstalling the extension automatically removes all locally stored information. Exporting data is optional and occurs only when you choose to save a JSON file.
Third-party services
SparkVault Permissions Inspector does not integrate with external analytics, tracking, or advertising services. Any future optional integrations (e.g., cloud sync or performance logging) will require explicit user consent prior to activation.
Future cloud features
Future versions may include optional cloud-based features such as secure backup or multi-device synchronization. These features will require account creation and explicit user consent. Any transferred data will be encrypted using HTTPS/TLS and handled according to high security standards.
Security
All permission inspection occurs within Chrome’s secure extension environment. The extension never injects external scripts or communicates with remote servers unless optional cloud features are explicitly enabled by the user. Any online services will use industry-standard encryption and secure authentication.
Children’s privacy
SparkVault Permissions Inspector is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect or process any personal information from children. Any data discovered will be deleted immediately upon notice.
Policy changes
This privacy policy may be updated periodically to reflect new features or compliance requirements. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Major updates will be announced within the extension.
