Privacy Policy

SparkVault Newtab Page Redirect is built with a strict privacy-first philosophy. All redirect entries, preset selections, custom URLs, preferences, and settings are stored locally on your device only. The extension does not collect, transmit, log, or share any personal information or browsing activity. All redirect data stays on your machine at all times and remains fully under your control.

What data we do not collect

• We do not collect personal information such as names, emails, phone numbers, or accounts.
• We do not collect your browsing history, search queries, new tab activity, or content from any sites you visit.
• We do not collect or upload your redirect list, custom URLs, preset selections, or extension settings.
• We do not use analytics, tracking scripts, advertising IDs, cookies, or share data with third parties.

Local-only operation

All functionality—including setting the default redirect, managing custom URLs, editing entries, selecting presets, and storing your preferences—operates entirely within your browser. No data is ever transmitted to external servers unless you manually export it. Your redirect configuration remains private and self-contained at all times.

Permissions

SparkVault Newtab Page Redirect uses the following permissions strictly to support new tab redirection and local data storage:

• chrome_url_overrides (newtab) — Required to replace the default new tab page with your selected redirect destination.
• storage — Used to save your redirect entries, presets, and settings locally inside the extension.

These permissions are never used to collect personal data, track browsing habits, or communicate with external services.

Data visibility and control

You have complete control over your stored redirect data. You may edit, search, or delete redirect entries at any time. You can manually import or export your redirect list, and uninstalling the extension automatically removes all stored data from your device.

Optional future cloud features

Future versions may introduce optional cloud sync or backup features for multi-device continuity. Any such features would always require explicit user consent, a setup process initiated by you, and secure encrypted data handling. No cloud-based functionality will ever activate without permission.

Security

All data is processed within your browser’s protected environment. If optional cloud features are introduced in the future, they will use hardened encryption, secure authentication, and modern security standards to protect your information.

Children’s privacy

SparkVault Newtab Page Redirect is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect or request information from children. If any such data is discovered, it will be deleted immediately.

Policy changes

This policy may be updated as the extension evolves. All updates will appear on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Significant changes will be communicated within the extension.
