SparkVault Habit Tracker Privacy Policy
Last updated: Nov 13, 2025 • Extension: SparkVault Suite
Privacy Policy
SparkVault Habit Tracker is designed with a strict privacy-first approach. It tracks your browsing habits — such as websites visited, time spent, and visit counts — entirely within your own browser. No browsing data, analytics, or tracking information is ever transmitted, uploaded, or shared with external servers. All data remains private, local, and fully under your control.
What data we do not collect
- We do not collect or store personally identifiable information (PII) such as names, emails, or accounts.
- We do not send your browsing history, page content, or usage logs to any external server.
- We do not use analytics scripts, cookies, or third-party tracking services.
- We do not share or sell any information to advertisers or other entities.
Local-only operation
All tracking, analysis, and data visualization occur locally within your Chrome browser. Data such as
site
names, visit durations, and total browsing time are stored securely using
chrome.storage.local.
Nothing leaves your device unless you manually choose to export your data. You can clear, export, or
import
your data at any time directly from the extension dashboard.
Permissions
SparkVault Habit Tracker requires a limited set of Chrome permissions solely for its core functionality:
- tabs — to detect which site and tab you’re currently viewing for time tracking.
- webNavigation — to detect when a page is loaded or changed, ensuring accurate logs.
- idle — to detect when the user is inactive and pause timers accordingly.
- storage — to save all browsing habit data locally on your device.
These permissions are used only to measure time spent on websites and display insights. They are never used to collect private or sensitive information.
Data visibility and control
You have complete control over your data. You can delete specific site entries, clear all data, or export and re-import your activity history as a JSON file at any time. When you uninstall the extension, all local data is permanently removed from your browser. SparkVault never retains or backs up your information unless you manually choose to do so.
Third-party services
SparkVault Habit Tracker does not rely on any third-party APIs, analytics, advertising networks, or remote servers. If any future optional features (such as cloud sync) are introduced, they will be clearly documented and fully optional, requiring explicit user consent before activation.
Security
All operations are performed within Chrome’s secure extension environment. Since all data is processed locally, there is no risk of external data breaches or unauthorized remote access. If cloud sync or account-based features are added in the future, all transmissions will use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS).
Children’s privacy
SparkVault Habit Tracker is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect or store any information from children. If such data is identified, it will be deleted immediately upon notice.
Policy updates
This policy may be updated periodically as new features are introduced. The “Last updated” date below reflects the most recent version. Users will be notified within the extension if major privacy-related changes occur.
